Import from Easy Folders

AI Prompt Dock accepts JSON exports from Easy Folders and ChatGPT Folders. The migration is non-destructive — your data in the source extension stays put.

1. Export from your current extension

  • Easy Folders: Settings → Data → Export to JSON. Save the file.
  • ChatGPT Folders: Options → Backup → Download backup (JSON).

2. Import into AI Prompt Dock

  1. Open the dock on any AI provider.
  2. Click the gear (Settings) → Import.
  3. Pick the JSON you exported. We auto-detect the format.
  4. Review the preview, click Import. Folders, chats, and prompts land in seconds.

What converts cleanly

  • Folder hierarchy (up to 3 levels — anything deeper is flattened with a warning).
  • Folder colors and names.
  • Chat-to-folder assignments (single parent — multi-folder mappings pick the first).
  • Prompt titles, bodies, and slash commands.

What doesn’t carry over

  • Easy Folders’ Pro-only features that don’t exist on our side yet (e.g. workspace tags).
  • Chats that no longer exist on the provider (we skip them — they’re orphans either way).
